Staff Profiles

The partners of Harold Bell & Co. believe that good service can only be provided by a combination of good staff and modern technology.  Always leaders in investing in computer and up to date equipment, we do believe that the 'tail should not wag the dog'. Thus we have sound and well trained staff to assist us in our clients business, who use the technological aids to help them. Most of our staff have been with us for many years. Some of them are in the 'photo below. We are happy to introduce our staff and ourselves to you.

Partner Profiles

Malcolm A. Bell

Admitted in 1978, Malcolm became a partner with his father's former partner (Ronald T. Barrett, known to many long standing clients) immediately on qualifying. A third partner ran a Devon branch office for some years. In time the Devon office was sold off and in 1990 Ron Barrett retired. After a year or so, during which Malcolm was a sole practitioner, Tracy Poolman became a Partner to Malcolm's great relief and the continued benefit of the practice.

Malcolm has commercial experience from articles in London and considerable general experience in practice in Ewell. He deals mainly with residential and commercial conveyancing (including business sales and purchases) and wills, with an overlap into the probate department for Inheritance Tax advice.

Malcolm is married with three children and lives in Sussex. He is interested in cars, golf, photography, flying and travel. None of them sufficiently indulged.

Fee Earner Profiles

Martyn J. Dixon

Martyn is a newcomer to the firm (Jan 2007) but feels he has been here years! He has taken an immediate and stranglehold grip on the Probate practice, fully on top of a large (and getting larger) work load. Martyn's experience elsewhere has held him very good stead and his approachable and easy nature makes him popular with staff and clients alike. His young years belie his professional, determined and soundly based approach. Martyn deals with all aspects of probate work as well as wills, powers of attorney and trust and management. He is happy to discuss any of this when you contact him.

Robert D. Millett

Robert joined the practice as a Consultant in 1990 having retired as Senior Partner of another local firm, with whom he had been all his working his life.  Robert is now mostly retired although still keeps an eye on one or two of his well established clients.  He still keeps an office here and pops in occasionally.  Over the years he has contributed enormously to the welfare of the practice and has been a “wise old owl” on numerous occasions.  We wish him continued good health and a long and enjoyable retirement and look forward to his occasional visits to the office to catch up on his clients.
